At Yaas Dental Care; we base our practice on prevention. Preventive dental care is important for the entire family and if you start and practice it from early age, you are more likely to avoid the hassle of severe dental conditions and procedures. Our primary responsibility is to help you to protect your teeth and to improve the problems that oral diseases can cause.
Comprehensive Oral Examination
In order to protect your teeth, you need to have your teeth examined clinically and by taking some intra oral x-rays. During your regular appointment, we will examine your teeth for cavities, fracture, pockets of plaque or bacteria, gum diseases and bite problems.
Our friendly staff can discuss and review your oral hygiene regime regularly. A proper brushing and flossing technique is a key part of a good oral health and it prevents gum disease and cavities. There are common mistakes that increase the risk of tooth decay and gum disease and could be avoided easily. We have multiple tools to educate you about proper brushing and flossing methods including digital animated videos and several print outs. This all will be incorporated with professional cleaning and polishing of your teeth.
Sealants can effectively prevent cavities and often recommended for children on their back teeth. Toothbrush and floss cannot reach and properly clean the back teeth. A resin sealant material will be applied to the chewing surface of the tooth and it will be hardened with a special light to bond it to the tooth and as a result it will prevent bacterial build-up and decay. The newest sealant can release fluoride on the tooth surface and prevent or arrest the tooth decay.
Fluoride is an essential element to make the tooth more resistant against bacterial invasion .our staff will discuss and tailor the best fluoride regime suitable for your lifestyle to make sure you and your family are protected against tooth decay.
Mouth guard is an essential protective equipment for anyone participating in a sport which may involve falls or contact. This includes football, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, skateboarding, gymnastics, mountain biking or any activity that might result in an injury to the teeth and mouth. Please ask our friendly staff and they will be happy to provide you more information in different types of the mouth guards.
At Yaas Dental Care, we will discuss with you whether a restorative treatment is required or not and we will recommend you the best options and an excellent care which are our number one priorities. Thanks to our modern technology and improved techniques, we are able to provide more options for restoring a tooth back to its standard appearance and function. Basically there are two types of dental restorations:
- Direct: In direct restoration technique the prepared cavity will be filled with a filling immediately after preparation. This can be done in a single office visit.
- Indirect. In this technique, the dentist may need to take an impression. Then the inlay, onlay or crown will be fabricated in the lab using different materials such as porcelain, gold, platinum, tooth colour composite resins and so on. Then the restoration will be fitted on the tooth in a separate visit.
